I am originally from Houston, Texas but am now living in Granby, Colorado. I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors soaking in the beauty of God’s creation. I’ve been an avid hiker and climber for many years, so I thought what better way to bring attention to those in need than by climbing for a higher purpose.
This will be my first hike with Child Legacy International and the Clean Water Climb. I’m joining the climb in April 2022 to hike Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain in South America to raise funds to bring clean water to our friends across the globe in Malawi, Africa.
The challenge of caring for and meeting the needs of the poor enduring multiple hardships in Malawi is great, but God is bigger and greater than all these problems. If we continue to pray and do our part, we can make a difference in the lives of the people in Malawi.
The malnutrition and water borne diseases in these local villages continue to be a serious threat to life. Approximately 25% of children in these villages die before the age of five. We can help put an end to this by providing clean water through repairing and restoring as many broken water wells as possible.
In addition, the Child Legacy water repair team will share the Gospel in these villages, bringing both physical and spiritual renewal. The Clean Water Climb’s goal is to raise $400,000, which will repair 320 wells for the benefit of 624,000 people–clean water and the hope of Christ. These two things alone will be a blessing to every community! Even during these uncertain times, we can’t forget to keep marching onward and upward for those that need us most.
As the Bible says in Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Please help me to reach my goal of raising $5,000 for the village of Malawi.
