My resume states that I am an Engineer, Outdoorsman, and Philanthropist. The Clean Water Climb is where those three positions meet.
I was first exposed to the world water crisis in college when my church in Norman partnered with an organization that drills water wells all over the world. I learned that there are over 600 million people in the world that lack access to clean water and therefore struggle to move themselves above the poverty line and onto a healthier, better life. In 2015, I had the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua and help drill a water well for a village that had been waiting for years for a clean water source. I was given a small glimpse of God’s plan for my life on this trip as I was able to see the connections between drilling water wells to meet peoples’ physical and spiritual needs and drilling oil/gas wells utilizing the skills I have learned over the past 9 years or so as a student of oil and gas.
Around that same time, a good friend started telling me about the Clean Water Climb and an organization called Child Legacy International (CLI). I learned of the incredible work that they are doing in Malawi and signed up to go on my first Clean Water Climb in 2017. Once again, I was able to see a small glimpse of God’s plan for my life in combing my love for the outdoors with a ministry that is truly changing the world.
And finally, here we are, looking towards the 2019 Clean Water Climb. God has given me so much in my lifetime. And he has called me to give back. I am so happy to partner with an organization such as CLI in helping bring clean water and the Living Water to the people of Malawi. I’ll be climbing alongside a group of young professionals in an effort to raise awareness and money for drilling and repairing water wells in Malawi. I would love to have you join my team by partnering in prayer and/or financially. Let’s get after it and fight this good fight together.
