Hi, I’m Michelle (yes, after the song on Rubber Soul). As of April 1, 2021 I have been married to Nathan Vonderau for four years (Yes, our anniversary is on April Fool’s Day, and it ain’t no joke!). When I married him, I officially became a stepmom to the wonderful Reese Vonderau who just turned 12 on April 12th. Additionally, we have a little 3-year-old named Jude (after the song “Hey Jude”). He keeps me constantly laughing. More importantly, I’m a native Houstonian and clean water enthusiast. I’ve seen my husband’s migraines decrease and my stepdaughter’s digestion improve by increasing their water intake. I personally try to drink a gallon a day due to my chronic kidney stones. So that’s why I’m here talking to you fine folks and asking for donations. I believe that all people deserve to have access to clean water. I want to do everything I can to help the great people of Malawi see this come to fruition. I wish I had all of the resources to make this happen on my own, but I believe that’s why God led me here. We can do this together and isn’t that so much better than doing this alone?
I currently work for Skillsoft, which is a corporate eLearning company (check us out! Skillsoft.com) where I am also a participant in the Corporate Social Responsibility team. My goal with this trip to Malawi is to better understand the needs of Child Legacy International and how Skillsoft can help. I’d like to see if we can sponsor a vocational school or donate resources to help upskill in the existing vocational schools in Malawi and Tanzania. So, keep your eyes peeled for cool new stuff in the coming years. For now, I really need your help raising funds for these wells.
Please give what you can, and if we meet my goal, who knows what crazy stuff I will do! Maybe go Facebook live and let the kids throw a dozen eggs at me? What would you like to see? Ice bucket challenge? Both?
