Hi Everyone!! Today is the day to make a difference.
A Little About Me:
My name is Kelly Eager and I live in Kingwood, TX. I have been married for 32 years and have the 2 most amazing children and son-in-law in the world. I was very fortunate to grow up in a loving family, in Kansas City, MO., where I am the youngest of 6 kids. My parents taught me the true meaning of unconditional love, and that we have a purpose in life, and what it means to make a difference. I am truly grateful to my family for loving me and supporting my dreams and adventures.
My Inspiration:
There is that one person in your life that you aspire to be. That would be my Mom. Wow. What a difference she has made in my life. She spent years juggling family, working, and traveling to Africa teaching others about The Lord, helping in their communities and building a church in Uganda. For the longest time, I never truly understood why she kept going back to Africa year after year. Before my mom died in 2001, she made me promise her that I would one day go to Africa and experience the same things she did and meet the people that changed her life. In 2014, by the grace of God, I was able to travel to Africa and keep my promise. Never in a million years would I dream that this would be the first of many trips.
My Africa Journey:
Africa 2014:
After many prayers, I decided to join the 2014 Clean Water Climb team on their journey to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and travel to Malawi to repair water wells. From the time I committed to the trip to the day that I left, I encountered many challenges. The day that I was supposed to start the climb, health issues stopped me. Instead of climbing the mountain, I ended up on safari for 8 days by myself where I met the most amazing people. Just when I thought my trip couldn’t get any better, we traveled to Malawi, the home of Child Legacy International’s Sustainability Project Site. The work that this group does for the people of Malawi is truly inspiring. They have touched my heart and changed my life forever.
Africa 2016:
On last year’s trip to Africa, my heath still was not good enough to climb the mountain, so I focused on taking others on Safari, visiting the local orphanage, spending the day with a Compassion International child, helping on Child Legacy’s Project Site painting a church, and repairing wells in the villages of Malawi. The climbers of this trip truly inspired me with their courage, dedication, and perseverance. It is because of them, I went home, joined the Weight Management program at the Methodist hospital, lost my weight, improved my health, trained hard, so I too can make it to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro which is 19,341 ft.
Africa 2017: This is the year that I will do the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I will conquer Mt. Kilimanjaro. I will raise money for Child Legacy’s water well repair ministry through their fundraising event called the Mt. Kilimanjaro Clean Water Climb! I will be helping to bring clean water to Malawians.
My Passion:
As all of my family and friends can attest, my passion is making a difference in the lives of others. “When your passion and purpose are greater than your fears and excuses, you will find a way.”
My Prayer:
I pray that each and every one of you will find it in your hearts to help me in my fundraising efforts so together we can bring clean water to the villages of Malawi, Africa. All money raised will go directly to the well repair project. All trip expenses will come out of my pocket.
Please help me raise at least $7500, enough to repair 6 broken water wells which restores water to approximately 12,000 people.
Together We Can Make A Difference!!
God Bless and Thank You,
Kelly Eager
