Hello friend, thank you for taking a moment to look at this page.
There is a story in the book of Exodus, where the Israelites are fighting the Amalekites. In this battle, as long as Moses held his hands up in the air, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands the tides would turn and the Amalekites would have the advantage.
“When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up-one on one side, one on the other-so that his hands remained steady until sunset. So the Israelites overcame the Amalekite army with the sword” [Exodus 17:11-13]
In this life, we experience depravity and yearning because our world is broken. We are living in the “already, but not yet” that Jesus has come and died for us, but that our ultimate salvation from death and suffering is yet to come. Like the story in Exodus, we are called to love our neighbor, to bear one another’s burdens, to hold up the arms of those who are tired and weary.
This is exactly what Child Legacy International’s mission is in Malawi. They seek to build sustainable communities throughout Africa where hope thrives and legacies of opportunity are created, breaking the generational cycle of poverty. They invite people into this mission, providing ownership of the development and fortification of their own communities.
I am excited to join teammates who yearn to play even a small part in holding up the hands of the weary. I hope that you will consider partnering with us on our Clean Water Climb journey to raise awareness for and support Child Legacy International’s mission.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful [Hebrews 10:23]
