Clean Water Climb, a year ago I could not of told you what this was, but now I have a mission and challenge before me. Lisa TerKeurst in her book, “When Women Say Yes to God,” shares that when deciding if you are hearing God’s voice one of the five questions you should ask is, “is it beyond me,” She goes on to say, “the beauty in doing things beyond ourselves is that we will know it was by God’s doing and His alone.”
God began preparing me mentally a year and half ago as I met people that made the Mt Kilimanjaro trek. Then God brought people into my life that connected me with Mike Navolio. The question has never been “is this what I should do”, it has been “are you sure Lord,” because it is beyond me.
I enjoy hiking and have hiked several 14ers (peaks over 14,000 feet) in Colorado and am always planning what state park or national park I am heading to next, but what drew me in for the Clean Water Climb was to do something I enjoy while benefiting someone else. The only obstacle was raising money. What is so great about this opportunity is sharing about something I am passionate about with others and giving them the opportunity to impact the lives of others. Not everyone can hike Mt Kilimanjaro, but everyone can donate to provide clean water that can make a difference in someone’s life. Just a $1 provides clean water for 2 people for up to 5 years.
Is it beyond me, yes, both the money and the ability to hike that high. I am ready for the adventure of hiking Mt Kilimanjaro, but I am actually more excited about the journey God will take me on to get me to Africa.
Life is an adventure; give me joy for the journey, Lord!
