Child Legacy International, Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, click here for documentation. Donations are tax-deductible and designated to Child Legacy’s Clean Water program.

When my friend, Sarah Jane, recently asked if I would join the Clean Water Climb to fundraise for Child Legacy International, I was overjoyed. This was an opportunity to combine both my passion of international relief and the outdoors. After reading more about the organization and hearing stories of its impact, I was even more motivated to support its cause. This is an organization that seeks to reduce the effects of poverty throughout Africa through sustainable efforts like education, renewable energy, and clean water.

Our goal for the Clean Water Climb, is to raise as many funds possible to directly support a water well repair program in Malawi, a country that has recently been ranked the 3rd poorest country in the world by the International Monetary Fund. This program fights water-borne illnesses and provides clean water to over 2,100 people per well. Just last year, we were able to raise enough funds to serve approximately 67,000 people! Our hope is to raise enough to extend this number and surpass our expectations.

We plan to summit the 14,008 foot Mt. of the Holy Cross in Eagle County, Colorado to mimic the burden that the children and women of Malawi must endure every day to access drinking water, often harboring harmful parasites and bacteria. For every pound that we carry and every foot that we climb, we remember the people suffering in Malawi and say to them, in some small way, that they are loved and not forgotten.

Regardless of whatever faith you may belong to, I believe that we can all agree that everyone has the right to clean water and a life of opportunity. We have the resources to do this, we just need your support. With your donation you say that everyone’s life matters, that they’re not alone, and that there is still hope.

Will you climb with us?
