Hi Everyone,
We are Mike and Gail Clearman. We are very excited and honored to be a part of both the 2022 Machu Picchu/Rainbow Mountain and Everest Base Camp Clean Water Climbs in support of Child Legacy International.
The purpose of both climbs is to raise awareness and funds to repair water wells that will go directly to providing life sustaining clean drinking water to the people of Malawi, Africa.
A little about us…. We have been married for over 44 years and have one amazing daughter and son in law and two precious grandsons. We love to travel, explore the outdoors and spend time with family and friends. Originally from Alabama, we have called Houston, Texas home for the past 30 years.
We first became introduced to Child Legacy International through Mike’s work at Southwestern Energy. Mike and Mike Navolio were colleagues at Southwestern Energy for several years. Mike Navolio’s passion and devotion to bring clean drinking water to the people of Malawi led us to support this amazing mission through donations to his previous clean water climbs. We began playing a more active role when we joined Mike Navolio on the 2019 Everest Base Camp climb and the 2021 Mount Kilimanjaro climb. Now, we are proud to be a part of both the 2022 Machu Picchu/Rainbow Mountain and Everest Base Camp Clean Water Climbs.
We will be paying 100% of our expenses associated with the 2022 Machu Picchu/Rainbow Mountain and Everest Base Camp Clean Water Climbs. We will also donate ourselves to both climbs to support this amazing cause. All donations will go directly to providing desperately needed clean drinking water to the people of Malawi and are tax deductible. The cost to repair one water well is $1,250. One water well can provide clean drinking water for approximately 1,950 people. We have set a fundraising goal of $7,500 which will repair six water wells.
So why are we doing this? The answer is really very simple. To us, there is no greater purpose in life than helping others in need. We are proud to be a part of such an amazing cause that will provide clean drinking water to the people of Malawi, Africa.
We hope you will consider supporting our fundraising effort for Child Legacy International as we trek to Machu Picchu/Rainbow Mountain and Everest Base Camp in 2022.
Thank You!!
