Hello. My name is Heitor Cesar Lima. I was born in College Station, TX but was raised in Brazil until I came back to the United States to pursue a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Once my undergraduate studies are finished, I intend to go on to pursue medical school with the hope of practicing medicine here in the United States and possibly work as a missionary doctor abroad.
I heard about Child Legacy International during a Mobilizing Medical Missions Conference in Houston where I met Michael Navolio who educated me on the work that was being done in Malawi. Although I was previously aware that some humans live in extreme poverty and lack basic necessities around the world, I felt like helping this cause was out of my reach as a 20 year old college student. Hearing about Child Legacy International and the Clean Water Climb got me thinking about the people in Malawi and showed me that I could in fact help this population in need by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness about this issue and to raise funds for Child Legacy to repair water wells throughout the country.
The trip will occur during the summer of 2019. I will be in charge of all my expenses. Therefore all the money donated towards my $5000 goal will be exclusively used to repair broken water wells at villages and schools in Malawi so the local population can have easy access to clean water. I thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. Your money can, and will, impact thousands of people who will be eternally grateful for your contribution.
Please help me reach my $5000 goal (enough to repair 4 broken wells impacting a total of about 8000 people) with your 100% tax deductible contribution to Child Legacy International (rated 4 Stars by Charity Navigator).
