Who I am:
Child of God, servant for Christ, wife of Bill, mother to Grace and Noah, an “ADD” biologist having studied/worked on the macro to the molecular, and perpetually late.

When:
July 2023 with the Malawi Mission Team

Why:
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’”
Matthew 25:35-40 ESV

The Reality:
The truth is that this is not going to be easy for many reasons.  I will be leaving my family behind for the better part of three weeks.  Also, I am not a “spring chicken” at fifty years of age and thus, my body is not exactly as resilient as it once was.  And, this last summer, my husband Bill climbed Kilimanjaro and though I was not there with him, I followed his journey and have a window seat’s view of the challenges of the climb.

However, I also know the joy he experienced serving the people of Malawi as well as how the trip deeply affected him.

To see the awe and splendor of God’s glory on full display and to be surrounded by the beauty of His handiwork, is a privilege. And in our family, serving and loving our neighbors, whether here in the United States, Central America, India and now Africa, is a calling and honor.  Christ called us to reach out, touch, serve, and thus love our fellow humans, regardless of who they are and where they are.

The Quest:
To raise at least $5,000 for water well repair in Malawi.  Did you know that just one dollar can provide nearly two people (1.7 technically, but hey that is close to 2!) with clean drinking water?  One hundred percent of the $5,000 goes to Child Legacy for well repair in Malawi. Over 8,000 people will get clean water for five years.  It is that simple!

One dollar, two people drink clean water….10 dollars, 20 people drink clean water.  Family of four eating one meal together at Chick-Fil-A may spend $25 and that would help nearly 50 people receive clean water.  $1250 will repair an entire well – that’s a lot of people and may serve more than one village

Would you please consider donating today?  Any amount is greatly appreciated and know that 100% of the donations go to water well repair.

“If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
1 Peter 4:11 NIV
