Hello, my name is Joy Saphla, and I am trekking to Everest Base Camp at 17,500’ at 17,500 feet to raise funds to repair broken water wells to support Child Legacy International’s Clean Water Program and the people of Malawi, Africa.
I am not a hiker or a climber, so this is a great challenge for me. I was looking for a challenge and this is both a challenge and a very good cause. When I am not training and working in support of charitable causes, I am working as a sales and operations professional with the support of a very loving family.
You might wonder why the water project in Malawi, Africa? Like many parts of the world, people in Malawi don’t have direct access to clean water. According to the latest UNICEF report, water-borne diarrheal diseases are the second largest killer of children under 5 years in Malawi. This is just my small effort to help solve this critical issue!
I have started training for my very first climb ever and need your help raising funds for this very good cause. Your donations make a huge impact!! For each dollar that is donated, 1-2 people will receive clean water for 5 years! $1250 provides an entire village with clean water. Your donations are NOT going towards my trip cost and every penny goes to Child Legacy International, a nonprofit organization with a 95/100 overall score from its monitoring organization, charitynavigator.org. I hope to raise $5000 or enough to repair 4 village and school water wells in rural Malawi!
Thank you for supporting Child Legacy International’s Clean Water Program with your donations!
Thanks,
Joy
