Dodson Family

Back in December 2018 I had a major heart attack with a 95% blockage in my widow maker, and almost lost my life.  Leading up to the heart attack I was a believer in Christ but lived of this world.   My goal in life was to take care of my family, but also to fulfill and experience every desire of this world.  I was on a mission to take as much from this World as I could while I was here.  

Thank God I had the heart attack because God changed my heart.  When I woke up from my surgery God took away the selfish desires of my heart, and God gave me a peace that I never had before.  I now know my purpose and why God put me here on this earth.  I now want to give back everything I can to this world and help to show the love of Jesus Christ.  God gave me a second chance in life, and I want to help others to experience the second chance of our God.  

God not only gave me a second chance in life, but a second chance with my wife and family as well.  I’m so Blessed that my wife and children have a heart for Jesus.  We have been able to grow in our faith together which has brought us to this point in our lives.  We had watched Mike for years and heard about his mission to make a difference by bringing clean water to one of the poorest places in the world.  I was lucky enough to run into Mike and Jason Sheppard one day at Good City Coffee where Jason formally introduced me to Mike.  I started off by giving to help fix some wells and started to learn more about the mission. 

At the time I was dealing with my ongoing health issues, and never thought I would even be able to go climb a mountain with Mike.  I went through several different surgeries and health problems until I was finally diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer.   God has been leading my path and brought me to the best DR’s at MD Anderson in Houston where they finally have my blood at the normal levels, and cleared me to take this trip with Mike.   I’m so Blessed that my wife Diana and my daughter Catalina want to go on this mission with me and help to raise money for a great cause. 

All money being donated will go directly to the Clean Water Climb and Child Legacy.  The trip has been paid 100% paid for with my personal funds and this climb is to raise money for a great organization.  We are looking to raise $15,000 for the CleanWaterClimb.net to help bring clean drinking water to one of the poorest countries on earth in Malawi.  All donations are greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference.  Thank you for your support.  Our goal is to go to Machu Picchu in April then follow that up with Kilimanjaro then Everest Base Camp.  We will get to see some of God’s best creations on this earth, as well as help those in need.
