I am originally from Downers Grove, IL and moved to Houston, TX where I have been a leukemia nurse practitioner at MD Anderson Cancer Center since May of 1998 (~24 years). Prior to that I was a stem cell transplant RN, also at MD Anderson. Before moving to Houston, I worked at the University of Chicago Medical Center as an oncology RN for 8 years. I have been married to Jim for 9 years and have a grown son, Kevin. I love my family, friends, and our 4 dogs. I have a special place in my heart for those with special needs, so I volunteered in Lakewood Church’s Autism ministry program, “Champions Club”, for 7 years.

I heard about Child Legacy International’s Clean Water Climb during a talk given by Mike at a medical conference at Lakewood Church in 2020, just before the Covid Pandemic hit the United States.

I am very excited to retire at the end of March 2022 to be able to participate in two fundraising hikes to help raise awareness and funding for Child Legacy’s water well ministry in Malawi, Africa, one of the poorest countries in the world. Representative of the difficult life people have in Malawi with contaminated water, these will be difficult hikes.

I am paying all my own trip expenses. My first trip will be to hike to Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain in Peru in April. My second trip will be to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in July. After conquering Kilimanjaro our team will then travel south to Malawi to repair broken water wells and share Bible stories with the Malawian people in rural villages and schools. We will be staying at Child Legacy International’s sustainability project. This will be my first mission trip. I am looking forward to both trips to see God’s creation on display. I am also very excited to participate in the Malawi mission that brings clean water, basic to life, to the people of Malawi.

Please consider supporting my $5000 goal for Child Legacy International by contributing via PayPal, credit card, or check below. This is enough to restore clean drinking water to 4 villages and schools or about 7800 people! As I mentioned above, I am paying all my own trip expenses, so anything you decide to donate will go 100% to the ministry!
