Hello Everyone –
As you know, Stephanie and I are fortunate to live in The Woodlands, Texas, where we raised our three (now grown) daughters. We have worked hard to provide a good life for our family, but honestly, living in the United States made being able to work a lot easier than it is in most places around the world. Years ago, I met some friends that are passionate in their love of God and chose to serve Him in many ways, but in particular by working fervently to provide clean water to the people of Malawi, Africa through Child Legacy International (www.childlegacy.org) and its partnership with the Clean Water Climbs (www.cleanwaterclimb.net).
Why there you might ask? To start, Malawi is one of the poorest and least-developed countries in the world, with approximately 1 out of 4 children dying before the age of 25. And those stats are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the impoverishment of these people. If you look around Child Legacy’s and Clean Water Climbs websites, you see some incredible stories of why these organizations are so important and need our support. The pictures (see attached) of people pulling their drinking water out of a muddy hole is absolutely horrible, and where my part (and yours) comes in.
I’m excited to share that I have committed to climbing Mt. Harvard, in Colorado (14,421 ft) this July. Mt. Harvard is the fourth highest summit in the contiguous United States and going to take 4 days to acclimate and reach the summit. I am climbing it in an effort to raise money and awareness for the people of Malawi and help them gain access to clean water. Stephanie and I are paying for my travel and climb, allowing for all money raised to go directly to building and repairing water wells in Malawi. All donations are tax-deductible. It costs $1,250 to repair a single well. I am hoping that together, I can raise enough for at least three wells.
If you feel you can donate, any amount will help this worthy cause. This is the link to the donation webpage. https://www.cleanwaterclimb.net/colorado-climbers/aron-harris/
This is no pressure, and I totally understand if this is not a good time. But I really wanted to share this vision with you.
Thankfully yours,
Aron Harris
