Hi there,
My name is Adrienne, and I give thanks and praise to God for bringing me here!
I am the mother of four adult children, grandmother to Cruz (17), Kennedy (14), Neola (11), Cannon (4), Graceson (2), and Noah (coming soon). I’ve spent most of my career in retail management, accounting, and loss prevention and am now semi-retired.
Unlike most, my 2020 quarantine has only just ended, during which, I relocated from California to Massachusetts to become the sole caretaker of my 96-year-old grandmother, lost my dear husband John of 20 years, and then my home. Everyone kept asking, “What are you going to do?” I didn’t know. Whenever I complained or cried out, the Lord kept asking me: Why are you here? My answer: To Serve…
One week after grandmother’s homecoming, I received an email from Church Project, announcing their upcoming mission trips and I knew then what He wanted me to do. To be a small part of something big. Really big! In fact, I am trekking the biggest mountain in Africa for the biggest problem in Africa – a lack of clean, safe drinking water!
It is estimated that 30,000 Malawians die each year from malnutrition and water borne disease. Average life expectancy is 43 years and 25% of children die before the age of 5 – this tragedy can be altered dramatically with one principle: access to clean drinking water!
So, I am joining Child Legacy’s 13th Annual Mt. Kilimanjaro Clean Water Climb this July to raise funds for Child Legacy’s water well repair ministry in Malawi, Africa. Since it costs about $1250 to repair, my goal is to raise enough to repair four wells or $5000. As I am paying for all of my own expenses, 100% of your gift will go to repairs. At every village or school Child Legacy’s crew not only repairs their broken water well to bring hope for today but shares the Gospel of our Lord Jesus to bring hope for eternity. After the hike our team will go to Malawi and join in the repairs and the sharing of the Gospel at each well location.
You too can be a small part of something big! Please consider helping me reach my goal as I reach the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,341’) for the people of rural Malawi. Pray that I will be successful in reaching my goal for Child Legacy! But also pray for my goal of reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro as I will be dedicating my climb to my late husband John in his memory. You can use the link above or send me a check made out to Child Legacy International.
