About the Appalachian Trail Hike
The Appalachian Trail Hike materialized in 2017 from a Mt. Kilimanjaro Alumni Kristi Thompson. It was created as a way for people who cannot make either the time or financial commitment to travel to Tanzania and Malawi, Africa. The hike will be an annual section hike from Springer Mountain, GA until its completion in Maine at Mt. Kahtadin. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Mt. Kilimanjaro team, American Summit team and Child Legacy International to section hike the Appalachian Trail.
How You Can Make a Difference Today
In villages where the well is damaged, the villagers may walk a mile each way to an alternative water source for water. The Appalachian Teams 165 mile hike represents the tireless miles that Malawians walk each day for clean water.
By partnering with the Clean Water Climb Team and Child Legacy, you can help bring water to hundreds of thousands of Malawians! In addition, if you are a SWN employee, please consider taking advantage of SWN’s Matching Gift program, which will match all donations of $100 or more, dollar for dollar, up to $15,000 per year, making the impact of employee donations go twice as far! If you are not a SWN employee, we encourage you to check with your employer to determine if your company has a charity matching initiative. We would be glad to forward any information they may need. With your help, we can change the future of the Malawian children and families. With your help, we can change a nation.
How You Can Help
